Who it's for / what we translate

The question every certified-translation buyer asks is the same one: will the people on the other end actually accept this? Here’s what we translate most, and who’s usually holding it.

What we translate

  • Birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde)
  • Marriage certificate (Heiratsurkunde)
  • Death certificate (Sterbeurkunde)
  • Certificate of good conduct (Führungszeugnis)
  • Driving licence (Führerschein)
  • ID card / passport page
  • School or university certificate (Zeugnis)
  • Transcript of records
  • Employment reference (Arbeitszeugnis)
  • Divorce decree (Scheidungsurteil)

Typical buyer

Someone with a visa appointment, a Standesamt (registry office) booking, a university enrolment date, or an employer’s HR deadline — translating a document into German for a German authority, or a German document out for a foreign one.

What's included

  1. 01 Translation of your document by a translator matched to the language pair.
  2. 02 A certification statement — signed and stamped, tied to that specific document — confirming it’s a complete and accurate translation.
  3. 03 Digital PDF delivery, ready to submit online or print at home.
  4. 04 Optional posted hardcopy, with an original ink signature, if your authority specifically requires one.

How this service works

  1. 01

    Order or ask first

Order the exact document type from the catalogue, or ask us first if you’re not sure which category your document falls into.

  2. 02

    We translate

A translator assigned to your file translates it faithfully, matching the layout of the original as closely as the format allows.

  3. 03

    Sign and stamp

The translator signs and stamps the finished translation — the certification is something that happens to that document, not a company-wide badge.

  4. 04

    Delivery

You receive a digital PDF immediately. If your authority needs a physical original, add posted hardcopy at checkout — within Germany or elsewhere in the EU.

Pricing for this service

Most single-page documents are priced fixed, so you see the exact number before you order:

Longer or unusual documents: from €0.19 per word plus €24.90 certification per document — get a quote and we’ll price it exactly.

Quality & handling

Every certified translation is handled by a translator working into their own native language, matched to your document type. Certification is described here for what it actually is: a signed, stamped statement attached to your specific document — not an institutional accreditation claim. Your file is treated as confidential from the moment it reaches us; see How it works for our full data-handling practice.

Language pairs

Certified translation is available at the standard rate for Tier A pairs (EN↔DE). Tier B and C pairs carry a surcharge; Tier D (rare pairs) is quoted individually.

Tier Pairs Multiplier
Tier A EN ↔ DE Base rate (×1.00)
Tier B DE ↔ FR, DE ↔ ES, DE ↔ IT, DE ↔ NL ×1.15
Tier C DE ↔ PL, DE ↔ TR, DE ↔ RU, DE ↔ PT ×1.30
Tier D All other pairs Quote only

Certified & Sworn Translation FAQ

Our certified translations carry a signed and stamped certification statement tied to your document, in the format German authorities, registry offices, universities and employers generally require. If your situation is unusual, ask us before you order — we’ll tell you honestly whether this covers it.

It means the translator has signed and stamped the finished document with a statement confirming it’s a complete and accurate translation of the original. It’s a property of that specific document, not a company-wide credential.

Most digital submissions (online portals, email applications) accept the digital PDF. If your authority specifically asks for an original ink signature, add posted hardcopy at checkout.

Get a quote and describe it. Most documents outside the fixed list are priced per word plus the €24.90 certification fee, and we’ll confirm the exact price before you order.

Standard delivery is 2–3 business days. Express (next business day) is +35%; same-day is available in some cases, subject to confirmation when you order.

Yes — that’s the point of showing you a named contact, not a ticket queue. Write to us before ordering if you’re not sure your document or deadline fits.
