Cancellation or rescheduling of a booked interpreting appointment is free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time incur a fee of 50% of the booking price. This applies equally to hourly, half-day and full-day bookings.
If you are a consumer (a private individual ordering for purposes outside your trade or profession), you generally have the right to withdraw from a contract within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with German and EU consumer protection law. Right of withdrawal: You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract was concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (triptranslation, Am Schieferlay 7, 35644 Hohenahr, Germany, support@triptranslation.com, phone +49 177 9307083) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement. You may use the model withdrawal form below, although it is not obligatory.
Because translation, proofreading, localization and transcreation work is a service supplied according to your specific instructions and personalised to you, your right of withdrawal ends once we have begun performing the service with your express consent and acknowledgement that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed, in accordance with Section 356(4) of the German Civil Code (BGB). At checkout, you are asked to confirm this understanding before placing an order for translation, localization, transcreation or proofreading work. Practically: if you cancel before work has started, you are entitled to a full refund; once translation work has genuinely begun on your file, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to the portion of the service already performed.
For certified document translations, the same principle above applies: you may cancel free of charge before work begins on your document. Once a translator has started work, the order is treated as performed and is not eligible for a refund on that basis.
To cancel an order or interpreting booking, contact support@triptranslation.com with your order reference, as early as possible. We will confirm whether the cancellation is free of charge or subject to the fee described above, based on the timing and status of your order.
Where a refund is due, it is issued to the original payment method used at checkout, without undue delay and in any case within 14 days of us confirming the refund is owed.
