What personal data we collect

We collect only the personal data you provide when you use this site, specifically: name, email address, phone number, and postal address, where you submit a quote request, place an order, or book an interpreting appointment. We do not collect personal data through this site beyond what you actively submit through a form, order or checkout.

03

Why we collect it and the legal basis

  • Quote requests and enquiries: to respond to your question and prepare a quote. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
  • Orders and checkout: to process, deliver and invoice your order. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
  • Postal address: collected only where you choose posted hardcopy delivery or provide a billing/shipping address at checkout. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4): used only if you actively opt in via the cookie banner. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), in line with Section 25 TDDDG. Google Analytics does not load, and no request is made to Google, until you give consent; you can withdraw consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

04

Cart and order data stored in your browser

Items you add to your cart are stored in your browser's local storage so your cart survives a page reload and a language switch. This data stays on your device; it is not transmitted to us until you complete checkout. It is not personal data processed by us unless and until you submit an order.

05

How long we keep your data

We keep order and enquiry data only as long as necessary to complete your order, respond to your enquiry, and cover the 14-day revision window that follows delivery, plus any period required by German statutory retention obligations for business records (typically up to 10 years for invoicing-related data under German commercial and tax law). We delete data sooner on request where we are not legally required to retain it.

06

Recipients of your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your data is shared only where necessary to deliver the service you've ordered (for example, a postal delivery provider when you choose posted hardcopy) or where required by law. This site's checkout is currently a demonstration and does not transmit or store card data anywhere; no payment processor receives your card details through this build.

07

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@triptranslation.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the one in the German federal state (Hessen) where we are based: the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
